I’ve been lucky to travel all over the world. Many of my trips were alone. There is a peacefulness in solitude. I like being by myself - even when surrounded by hundreds of people. Even though they may be judging me from a distance, I know they don’t really know me and never truly will.
This is how I feel about architecture. We look at a building all alone, yet surrounded by life. We judge them and write about them. But we‘ll never truly know them.
I’m sure if they could talk - they would tell us that.
